Slow Motion Cowboys is a New Orleans–based Americana band with a sound rooted in cosmic country, storytelling, and cinematic Western tones. As the band prepared to release new music and ramp up touring, they needed a modern website to anchor their digital presence and give fans a centralized, cohesive experience. In addition to an enhanced site, the band wanted to capitalize on new ways to attract and retain followers of their music through effective marketing. This includes an enhanced electronic press kit (EPK), Spotify/Apple Music optimization, and other digital marketing endeavors.
My Approach
I designed and developed a custom Squarespace website that reflected the band's unique aesthetic — a blend of dark noir Western and modern Americana. The site was built with a bold typographic identity, moody color palette, and intuitive navigation, ensuring a strong first impression for fans, bookers, and press alike.
Key priorities included:
Designing a homepage that captures the band's vibe visually and tonally
Creating clear sections for bio, tour dates, videos, and contact
Implementing a manual tour section with external ticket links, styled for easy updates
Ensuring mobile responsiveness and fast load times
Collaborating closely with the band on branding alignment, content tone, and visuals

The Result
The site now serves as the band’s official digital home. It offers a focused fan experience with all key content accessible in just a few clicks. The custom tour section and embedded media help promote upcoming shows and releases without requiring ongoing third-party integration. The band now has a strong, stylish platform that reflects their identity and can grow with them. Along with the bands website enhancements, the other digital marketing efforts combine to provide unique growth opportunities for the reach of Slow Motion Cowboys.
